Austrailian wolf?

I work in a JC Penny's warehouse, and found a fairly large wolf. As the store is populated mainly by women who i've seen freak at a spider the size of a quarter, I figured I'd do it a favor and save it.

Here's the thing, though: He/she's got a leg spread of just over 3 inches, which is consistent with a large wolf, but the only picture her patterns match is an Australian wolf. She's a spitting image of this picture: generally featureless dark brown and tan, except for a small black and white pattern on the abdomen and orange jaws(?). I know they're not called jaws... but the name escapes me at the moment.
(for a picture, go here: http://www.austmus.gov.au/factsheets/images/wolf_spider_dingosa.jpg ).

Now, here's my question: I live in the midwestern US, if it is a Dingosa wolf, what is it doing here? are they native to the US?

-Thanks for any help you can provide
