I had an aunt & uncle who lived in San Fernando Valley, Calif from 1971 to 1985. My uncle was a plumber and had a lot of junk in his back yard. Plumbing fixtures, tubes old rusty t.v.'s and radios. I saw a toilet one time with a heck of a VERY HUGE funnel web in it! I saw other funnel webs in & around "junk", but this one was the biggest! I coaxed the spider out and into a jar by putting a potatoe bug at the edge of the web. I flick the spider/jerusalem cricket into a gallon jar. I seen Wolf Spiders before. Took some to my science teacher. He told me the spiders I took him in jars were wolf spiders, but this spider, I was told that the markings and eyes like a wolf spider, but was much much BIGGER!!!!!! the legs alone stretch out with a ruler put to the glass measured nearly 4 1/4 long. Wish I had a picture to scan onto the computer! Do wolf spiders make sheet funnel webs at ALL ????? I'm more into tarantulas, millipedes, and giant pill bugs than wolf spiders! Someone kindly write back! Thanks...
