Hi ppl
I'm new to these forums, but I'm a young portuguese man which loves to collect insects and wasp/hornet hemynopterans are also a thrill (I mainly collect butterflies).

Anyway, i caught a hornet I beleive, which I've been unable to identify. A photo is unfortunatly not available.

It is 1,5 cm long, brilliant black body, long recurved antennae, bright red legs, except for the last segment, stinger not visible. It was very nervous in behaviour, the antennae always moving up and down.

It was caught in Portugal, southwestern europe, during last Summer.

Cheers
