:We have a wasp, or hornets nest between the outside wall & living room wall of our house. They are getting in through a small gap where the molding under the lip of the roof is not quite flush w/ the corner where it meets the wall. My question is what is the crackling we hear from inside the living room? It's extremely loud during the day, & quiets down just a bit @ night, but has been going on 24/7 for over a week now. Is there any risk of them chewing through the drywall & entering the house? The nest is like 12' off the ground, & I don't own a ladder that tall to even get to it. Not only that, it's in an area where a ladder would not set up too easily. Any ideas on how to get rid of them? Any threats aside of being stung that I should know about. Thanks much!

Jim,
I would contact a professional pest control technician if I were you. Your questions would be answered for free but I don't know about removing the nest. If it is done wrong you could end up seriously injured and the wasps would move deeper into the walls.
I wish I could tell you more.
