I wish I could find a picture confirmation of what these things are. I have young children and would hate for them to be stung by these huge insects. They are yellow and black with a reddish brown back end. They fly fast and bore sandy holes in our flower beds. They are immune to normal flying insect spray. If they are harmless and will not sting us, I guess I'll leave them alone. They are so huge though that it is hard not to be afraid of them. Does anybody know the species name for these beasts or where I might find a picture of them? Thanks!
