As to the web capture, my captive ones cover the bottom of their jars with webbing, in my opinion though, not so much as to CAPTURE prey, but more of a "delay" and alert method. Flies and other insects I feed them get caught momentarily in the "fuzzy" surface of the web, but it doesn't stop them for long. As to the arboreal aspect, I've found MANY B. recluses at the top corner of walls, although to be honest, I've found many more than that near ground level. Finally, most of the "non-captive" recluses I've found were not in any kind of webbing at all, unless it was a female near her egg case....so maybe my captives spin webs to keep from being bored between meals...lol ECO

:I can't say from the picture, but from what I understand, the loxosceles genus doesn't generally use its web to catch food, nor do they particularly enjoy heights.
