I’m having a slight problem with my H. spadix. I just recently acquired them and they seem to be quite intolerant of each other. I received, from what I can tell, two gravid females and one large adult male. I tried introducing them into a 20L tank with plenty of food available. I set the tank up three weeks prior to receiving my scorpions to insure that I had the correct humidity and temperature levels. The temperature reaches a peak of 90 degrees in the day and about 76 degrees at night. The humidity level fluctuates from about 40% to 45% depending on the temperature. The scorpions are kept on 4 inches of packed “play sand” that has small amount of gravel and rocks mixed into the substrate. I have provided a small area for drinking water and multiple hides throughout the tank. With all that stated on to my questions. Should I allow the scorpions to “work out” their territory disputes? Or should I play mediator, and separate the scorpions when the get into a boundary tiff? I separated one of the females since she has an injured leg. Do you think I should reintroduce her into the enclosure? If so, how long should I wait? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
W. Smith
