Alright, first a little intro...

I am, overall, opposed to keeping pets. Mamals, herps and birds need much larger environments, in my opinion, than is practical for me to provide. On the other hand, I ended up getting a pacman frog as a rescue project when a drug addict left it nearly die of dehyrdration. I was interested after that in a tarantula, and got one, and now I've realized I love bugs. Bugs aren't so big or so smart that I can't provide a large enough environment for them to remain relatively content. So, my new found interest in bugs has led me to want several types of arachnids and insects, and I would love it if anyone out there could answer any or all of my questions. I know the kingsnake forums are very helpful, which is why I decided to post all of these questions here... not all of them are about millipedes but I know that some of you have to keep more than just millipedes...

1. Millipedes, can anyone offer me a web site that sells millipedes that are good for a beginner and guarantees live shipping? What is the perfect set up for this species, including substrate, decorations, temperature, humidity, etc.,... how much time must I dedicate to them and is there any way to keep them from breeding, or is it very hard to avoid? I am a vegetarian so I would find it difficult to disgard millepeds that I couldn't sell or keep.

2. Centipedes: pretty much the same questions, but I have read that rock formations that form labyrinth-like structures will keep it easier for me to view my centipedes. Would it be better for me to keep a centipede in a vertical enclosure, versus the more traditional horizontally structured aquariums? Can I keep more than one in a cage?

3. Scorpions: Same initial questions as above... What is the best species to keep a colony of? What is the name of the tarantula that is sensitive to ultra violet light, and glows? What size cage would be best for a colony of 10 scorpions?

4. Hissing Cockroaches: What is the best set-up to maintain a colony of them for feeding the centipedes and scorpions? What is the best enclosure for maintaining a healthy colony?

And that's about it. Basically for all the species listed I am curious as to what enclosures work best, what temps and humidity levels for the best newbie-species, and just general care information. I would love to have all of the information required to have a succesful colony/species on my first attempt: it breaks my heart to see an animal die.

Thanks for the info, and if anyone can recomend a website that offers good shipping on live animals, and healthy animals, that would be great.

Well, sorry to post so much about so many topics, but thanks in advnance.

P.S. The nick Seranar is a typo, it should have been Seramar ;)
