Did it ever occur to you that the giant pills could've been in-bred? brothers with sisters? I had some a number of years ago and they were just fine for over a year and a half. I didn't have any outside sources for a while cause the website pet store didn't have any for a while. A seasonal thing.. come & go every 6 -7 months. The ones i had mated with the others and the next batch, had the problem when the molted. The spots on their backs and then loosing weight. That's gotta be the problem. Inbreeding.
