Thank you for your response!
I agree with your words... they need a humidity about 80%, a temperature under 22°C... one asian Spaeropoeidae-Species even tolerates 18°C very well...but I have had all my losses during summer where I have 23-25°C.
Iīve bought a big brown-pill millipede species from madagascar where some very small ones were green with brown spots.
Maybe it is sometimes a juvenile-colour, itīs only a suggestions, but some Glomerida-Species have something like this.
I donīt have any idea why this brown spots appear by my adult individuum before it dies.
But i get some problems with the mineral-supply by my pills.
How do you make this?
The problems only appear by the moulted green-ones.
One of them dies accidently by weighting it... itīs tergits broke down and he looses a lot of liquid...
Have you found out any special food?
My ones only eat on rooten-wood material... but from this 1l weekly. Someone tould me that they eat dead insects (Phasmids) and meat, but my ones arenīt interested in it. My dead phasmids vanish over night but I havenīt seen anytime any pill-millipede eating on it. Only isopods love this.
Now iīve given them some green algae from a lake, they eating on it a little bit but they more prefer rotten leaves.
Iīve written letters to the Aquarium Berlin and the Aquazoo Düsseldorf who have kept pill-millipedes. But they all told me that they have died.
What species have you kept ( colours, subfamily,..) Have you breed them??? My Spaeropoeds have mate but I havenīt found any eggs until now.
Do you have any alcohol material? Drawings? Literature articles?
I really want to hear more because Iīm a biology student who will work with the Sphaerotheriida-group in the next year.
