::Hi,
::I currently keep Deroplatys dessicata, Hymenopus coronatus, Pseudocreobtra wahlbergii, Phyllocrania Paradoxa and Miomantis SP. All these apart from the Miomantis require a fairly humid tank and I have found that heat mats are best for humid tanks as it easily heats the tanks up to 28C, but they don’t seem to work for dry tanks as they only get the temperature up a few degrees above room temperature. For species like Gongylus Gongylodes and Empusa sp. that require more heat and drier tanks, I agree that light bulbs are better for these species, as light bulbs provides warmer temperatures and heats drier tanks better.
::Also if your species does require a high humidity and you want to use a heat mat, place a layer of tinfoil under the heat mat, as this will reflect the heat to where you want it and use a moist substrate.

::Thanks a lot.

Ooops sorry for the blank reply. Anyway thanks for the tips, I think I'll go ahead and buy a bulb just to see how it does, then at least I have a choice. Oh by the way, I did place the tank on top of the shiny side of some tin foil, seemed to help a bit. Thanks again for the replies all, Matt.
