:Okay.. so I came home and noticed that one of my pink toe's legs was laying in the middle of his cage... and he was on the other side. He's still alive.. what's going to happen? What should I expect? Prior to it.. for the past few months he's been real weird. Doesn't stick to the glass anymore, his abdomen lost it's hair and shrunk to be really tiny. What's wrong with him?
The symptoms that you describe seem to indicate a lack of humidity. I would suggest to check the moisture levels of the caging as well as temperatures. You may want to spray the caging with water 1-2X/day. Avicularia require moist conditions for proper growth; especially when molting. After 1-3 molts (with the proper humidity), the missing leg ( & urticating hairs on the abdomen) should regenerate again.
