:Where do you live? Here in California they are everwhere...under rocks, old shacks, in dark places, etc... When my sister took the zoology class, she had to make an insect collection ( which must include 2 arachnids ) and we went to her friends farm to get a blackwidow...they were everywhere in the barn. A couple of years ago, I found one in my garage. I kept it for awhile before feeding it to my pray-mantid. hehe I think they can be found in the east cost, too...I'm not so sure. You can try reading about them ( see what is their distribution in North America ) from books in the library. I'm sure they have them because they are very popular here.
