Depending on the size of your spider, the mechanical injury from
a bite alone would be painful and traumatic. Plus the spider
might get sent flying across the room and die from impact.
Rosies are fairly popular and considered docile, but not the
most docile. There are other species that are much less likely
to bite, though of course any animal with a mouth has that
potential. Personally I would not risk it, spiders don't
need handling to be perfectly content. My 10 year old and
my husband do not mess with my 4 tarantulas.
