When I was little living in OH I saw a Huge Fly resting on our tree this was no horse fly. It looked just like a fly but a giant version. Just last week visiting my grandma in KY my son saw one. She said it was a Lotus and they hatch every seven years. Not Locust. This thing is about 5 to 6 inches with all the features of the house fly. Any clues??????
