:i recently purchased two chinese centipedes over the internet and have had them for one week and they have not eaten anything . what i want to know is how often do they eat and what kind of enviroment would they prefer? right now it is about 70 degrees f. ihave tried feeding them crickets and hissing roaches nothing. i would appreciate any information thank you cheyenne
I would suggest to increase your temperatures to a range between 75-82 deg.F. Spray the cage/tank lightly-once per day with water as centipedes prefer high humidity. Provide a substrate of at least one or a combination of: peatmoss, vermiculite & sterile(fertilizer-free & pesticide-free) potting soil. These types of media retain the humidity that centipedes require. Provide at least one or more hiding places for the pedes & keep in an area of subdued lighting. This should help them acclimate & thus start to feed. **Most importantly---keep your centipedes in separate caging as they can be cannibalistic when they get the urge to feed.**
