I think you'll find, that's what centipedes do.If it never comes out how do you inspect it? do you dig it out of the dirt?
I've got a vietnam centipede(scolopendra subspinipes) and since I've had it, I've seen it for no more than ten minutes in total.What are you feeding it? Mine pops out, grabs a cricket then goes under again! this can all be over in 60 seconds.
