A good start for substrata in a mix of potting soil and peat, about 60% to 40% mix, to about 5 inches deep, mist it heavily before you install the scorpion. Emperors will burrow, and they need a deeper soil. The rock caves are also a good idea. Use a shallow water dish, but be prepared to clean in often. They prefer warm humid conditions. Use a reptile heat pad on the side of the tank, or a heat lamp with a 40 watt red bulb. Try to keep the temp at about 80.
