Facts so far: 40 gallon glass aquarium with glass top and small vent holes in back for circulation False bottom setup 6.5" substrate - .5" of gravel on top of eggcrate and mesh for drainage, and 6 inches of peat moss/light soil mix shallow running stream across one end that pools for awhile before draining back to false bottom to keep humidity around 80% 3 flat rocks embeded in substrate 1 cave rock on subsrate 2 cork bark caves Temp during day varies from 89 to 82 degrees Temp varies at night from 75 to 80 degrees Humidity varies from 85 to 80 percent Okay so I believe that much is correct for an Emporer scorpion and the tank has been stablizing for approx 2 weeks. Now for the questions: 1) Would I be able to house 2-3 Emps comfortably in this setup? 2) Do you have to dust thier feed once every two weeks like some reptiles? 3) What plants should I use? I need specific species so I can do the research on them please. 4) Any other suggestions for keeping a comfortable setup? 5) Anything I should change before I introduce the scorpions?
