I tried looking through the web to find parks and wooded areas. In the range I suggested; and I think you'd have better luck in the san deigo Plum Canyon- Anza Borrego State Park. Found just outside the town of Borrego Springs, CA.

:Any tips as to where I can see and photograph this species.
