Hi! I've recently seen a beetle here in Tucson and I'm curious to know what it is. I've searched online but found no pictures.

The beetle seems to live on a tree, and in groups, there must be abour 40 or 50 of these things all living together. Approximate length 1", coloration - almost entirely red though some regular patterned white spots on the back. The main body appears more flat than rounded. All of the beetles were motionless on the tree, and to be honest quite scary looking things! Legs - 6, quite long, and reasonably large antennae.

Any ideas??
Thanks,
CK.
