Question for ANTS and Keepers
Assuming that i can find a queen in a small colony
and build me a giant Uncle Miltons Ant Farm
I was thinking of a 3'x3' with a thickness of 3/4 to 1"
Made out of Glass, I know people use seperate feeding containers
but if you took this, drilled holes in the side, ran tubing(airline)from the holes (since i dont think a Queen can fit through this tubing) then run this tubing out my window into my yard?

I am thinking that if the queen cannot fit thru this tubing then
the main part of the colony would be forced to stay in my enclosure while the ants would be able to go outside to get food?

Also since we are starting the search for a small colony to dig up What is the recommendation on doing this (not the digging) but moving the queen, some eggs and pupau and some workers into a ant farm? Do i just dump in and let the working start digging and the queen will go down when its started.

Also about how many ants do i need to get(workers) with a queen to keep it running will 100 workers from the queen ants hill work or do i need more?

Thanks for any replys

Chad
